Colours of Quartz

Quartz, I feel, is an under rated gemstone for it has so many stunning hues. All are well loved, especially the well known varieties of Amethyst (purple) Smoky Quartz (brown) Citrine (yellow) Rose Quartz (pink) There are many others including colourless - rock crystal quartz, black, blue, green and many others in-between. Some quartzes have other gemstones radiating through them, like the black needles of Tourmaline or golden needles of Rutile. Others have 'ghosts' of earlier growth that can be seen. I thought I would show you a montage of stunning pieces today - keeping away from the science bit for now, just so you can enjoy the beauty of this most versatile gemstone. Please click on the pictures to be taken to the items in the artisans shops on Folksy.... ................................................................................................................................................................
